Stewart is a native of New Orleans, graduating from Jesuit High School and later Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance where he was inducted to the National Honor Society of the Financial Management Association in his senior year.

Over his career, Stewart has served as Chairman of the Small Business Advisory Committee and the Executive Board of the West St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce. He also served for four years as an elected representative on the St. Tammany RPEC and graduated from the Leadership St. Tammany Class of 2007.

He and his wife, Katie, have three children (Lucy, Rori, and Ryan) and reside in Mandeville and are parishoners at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church where the last few years he has served on the executive planning committee for the annual Fleur De Fall parish fundraiser.

In 2009 Stewart co-founded Bruce Shields & Associates, LLC with his partner Jeff Bruce after 5 years as an advisor with The MassMutual Financial Group.  Stewart specializes in both personal and group benefit insurance strategies along with group retirement plans such as 401(k)s, group medical, business succession strategies, and retirement strategies.

Jeff and his wife, Jennifer, have 3 children – Marlin, Ryne and Olivia. While serving in the Louisiana National Guard, Jeff received his undergraduate degree in 1996 from The University of Louisiana, home of the Ragin’ Cajuns. After his service to our country in the Louisiana Air National Guard (1991-1997), he began work at The First National Bank of Commerce in New Orleans in March of 1997. Having survived both the Banc One and JP Morgan Chase mergers, Jeff found himself as the Investment Team Leader for Chase Bank in St. Bernard Parish, managing his branch with respect to investments. During this time he also earned his Master’s degree from Regis University.

After Hurricane Katrina ravaged the area, Jeff took on the management role of Investment and Annuity Specialist for the Louisiana Agency of the MassMutual Financial Group, covering the entire state of Louisiana and Southern Mississippi. In order to concentrate more on his personal clients, Jeff (along with his business partner, Stewart Shields) founded Bruce Shields and Associates, LLC. Mr. Bruce will continue to focus on the individual needs of the clients as a partner of Bruce Shields with concentration on Investments, Annuities, and Long Term Care insurance.
